"Thank God, with stable palm oil prices, we feel more at ease. With just two hectares of palm oil, I can provide for my family of four," Apui said with a wide smile, as we spoke at his humble home located along a road that marks the border of West Kalimantan.

Like many farmers in this region, Apui relies on oil palm as his primary source of income. The stable prices for FFB, ranging from IDR 2,700 to IDR 3,000 per kilogram, have been a breath of fresh air for those who previously struggled with unpredictable price fluctuations.

"I don't want to just rely on aid or loans. With palm oil, we can sustain ourselves," added Apui, who feels that palm oil has given him greater independence than other jobs available in the area.
